Truth behind Mighty Joe Young

Mighty Joe Young is a film of a gorilla that has grown to an enormous size which makes the poacher really wants him. The truth is, Mighty Joe Young is just a film and there is no such thing as a gorilla which has the size of Mighty Joe Young. The heaviest and the largest gorilla in the world is only 221kg which was named Gargantua in the year 1929 (anonymous, 2015). By looking at the size of Mighty Joe Young, it doesn’t seems like a gorilla with weigh if 221kg. Mighty Joe Young seems more than a ton.

Any other primates apart from gorilla which have the enormous and ferocious strength

There is a case when an orang-utan tossed away a log using only a single hand. The most surprising part is the orang-utan is not from the jungle but it is an orang-utan which is held in capacity ever since its birth (Anonymous, 2012). To begin with, the log that the orang-utan tossed away is a log that almost four or five zookeepers wanted to get rid of but failed because they can’t even make the log to budge at all. But still, the orang-utan manage to tossed it away only using a single hand and that is an act of an orang-utan which is held in capacity ever since birth and we are not talking about wild orang-utan or even a wild gorilla.

Does gorilla’s strength is the same as The Hulk’s?

                                                           Video of Hulk lifting tank

Hulk can even lift a tank which weighs at about 50 tons as if it is nothing less than a featherweight dumb bell. An adult man can only lift 200kg top. So, that means a gorilla can lift only 4 tons or 5 tons top. Even 10 gorillas team up together to bring Hulk down is nearly impossible. Maybe a gorilla would only have the same strength as Captain America, Steve Roger. To be on the same ground as Hulk, it is only a pipe dream. It does sounds real for a gorilla to overpower human for strength but still to become at the same ground as Hulk, there is none>

A tiger versus a gorilla: who will win?

The things that a tiger possesses are strength, claws and fangs. Same goes to a gorilla. The different is a gorilla is much bigger than a tiger and also more agile. When those are difference between the tiger and the gorilla, these would be the advantages of the gorilla but the tiger seems the most unfortunate right now. The tiger is only capable of leaping onto its opponent. But when the tiger is about to do so, the gorilla will instantly pummel the tiger towards the ground when the tiger is on the mid-air and you know how hard it would be to accept the smash of a gorilla. And at that time, the gorilla doesn’t seem to use it fangs and claws yet. Which means the gorilla didn’t go all out but yet the tiger seems the one who suffers the most due to the fight.

What is the best method to capture a gorilla?

Usually, to capture an animal, poachers would use the tranquilizer to make the beast to mellow. But that stuff doesn’t seems to works on gorilla. Only with tranquilizer will not even make the beast to relax but it will make the beast to feel annoyed and you will never make a gorilla too feel annoyed, didn’t you? When we spoke of a gorilla, live ammo is the one which are the most suitable one to capture a gorilla, but not straight to the vital point. But the thing is, how could you?

Is encountering other primates will be the same as encountering a gorilla?

To encounter a gorilla, bare hand would seem futile. But the things don’t work that way when you are encountering chimpanzee or baboon. There is a case when a zookeeper was attack by a baboon. At first, the baboon seems to winning the fight. But in the end, the baboon lost the fight due to lack of oxygen to be inhaled. The zookeeper strangled the baboon from behind using his arm and drowned the baboon into the water. When the baboon didn’t even make any move, the zookeeper releases his strangling. Seems like strangling works much to encounter other primates, although it didn’t work on gorilla.

What to do or what not to do when we are encountering a gorilla

Gorilla used to move in pack which means there will be an alpha in the pack. Some says that looking straight towards the alpha’s eyes is the last thing you want to do when you encounter a pack of gorillas. The truth is, it is okay to look straight towards and alpha’s eyes as long as you don’t move a single bit just to let them know that you’ are not of the enemy or threat. Once it considers you as threat or enemy or foe, you are doomed. At least when you want to move, just move only a little bit and at the same time, prevent looking straight towards the alpha's eyes if possible just as a cautious measure.

Is it how the film The Rise of The Planet of The Apes viewed gorilla’s strength is exaggerated?

Video of Gorilla pull out a token payment machine and tosses it towards                                                                                                patrol car

Video of Gorilla stops a horse using only one hand

There is a part when a gorilla plucks a parking token payment thing and tossed it towards the patrol car and caused the car to stop. There is also a part when the same gorilla stopped a running horse using only a single hand and makes the horse seem helpless. The thing is, what has been done by the gorilla is not exaggerate. It’s not like I said that when he imitates human by following order from his leader is making any sense. But the thing is his strength to pluck out the parking token payment thing and tossed it as well as stopping a running horses with only one hand is not exaggerated at all what has been done by the gorilla is the things that a creature which is six times stronger than an average adult man.

Any cases or scenario regarding to human versus gorilla

There was once a case regarding to a gorilla attack in Marseille, France in the year 1902 ( Brad Folsom, 2013). The gorilla was given the name Francois by his tamer, Joumoux. It is said that Francois grew jealous of Joumoux when Joumoux started to brought his wife along to the zoo. Until there was a day when Joumoux wanted to come to Francois cage, Francois suddenly leapt onto Joumoux and started pummelling him. Luckily at that time, Joumoux brought along a fork in his pocket and Joumoux stabbed Francois using that fork until Francois died to the loss of blood. But still, Francois died 5 hours later. The fight was shown resulted as a draw. But if Joumoux didn’t bring his fork along with him, he would lose the fight easily. Which means a human can only bring a gorilla down using tools and if with bare hand, the human would have suffered from fatal injury, or rather, died.

Is it possible for a professional wrestler to beat a gorilla in a straight-up match?

If we put Brock Lesnar and a gorilla in a cage to make them fight each other, it would be pointless. Unlike human, gorillas’ fighting responses are natural, not trained or forced. If a gorilla would face a human or even a professional fighter or wrestler in a straight up match, the victory will obviously come to the gorilla. Apart from that, the gorillas have lower centre of gravity which will be the advantage which means it is very difficult for them to be brought down. In fact, gorilla is heavier and stronger but yet faster than human. So, the probability for the human to defeat a gorilla is low even if the human himself is a professional fighter.

Is there any match between human and gorilla to measure their strength?

Video of rope-pulling match between orang-utan and a human
Video of hanging match between a man and an orang-utan

Video of climbing tree match between human and chimpanzee

So far, there is a match between orang-utan and a sumo wrestler which was a rope-pulling match and the victory came to the orang-utan.And there was also a match to measure the arm strength between an orang-utan and an acrobatic and the winner was the acrobatic but it seems that the orang-utan didn’t lose because of lack of strength or stamina whatsoever to hang too long but it seems that the orang-utan got distracted and lost it focus on what it supposed to do at that time. And the other match that was held between the primate and human being was a tree climbing match between a native man and a chimpanzee and the victory came to the chimpanzee too.To be specific, the reason why there is no match between a human and a gorilla is because human being will never be able to rival on a gorilla. Even when human held a match chimpanzee and orang-utan, the human didn’t stand any chance of winning.

How strong is an average gorilla?

An average gorilla weighs about 200kg. But thing is, it is not its weigh that matters as there are some people weigh more than that. But still, can those people do the same as what gorilla does which is hanging at tree branches using only one hand for a long period? Even a guy less than 100kg can’t hang himself as long as gorillas do even with both hands. Some said that an average gorilla is 20 times stronger than an adult human (Anonymous, 2012)

. A gorilla can even split up banana tree like it is not any kind of big deal at all. Even for a strong adult man to tear up a banana tree will make the man to use the strength which will reach to its fullest.

Why do I Choose gorilla out of many kind of animals?

When I was a kid, I watched a movie, which I forgot its title but it doesn’t seem so important. The movie displayed a doctor which discarded the limbs of a man’s body a replace it with mechanical limbs. So, I thought, why should replace it with mechanical things? Why don’t replace it with other man’s limbs or take animals part? I started to think, if one’s are to replace his or her hand with animal’s limbs, which animal should he or she choose. And I started to think. What kind of species which have both hands like human? Then my mind said it is primate. Then to think of it I choose gorillas as gorillas are the strongest primate in the face of the earth. Starting from that, I love to know more about gorilla, or rather, gorillas’ strength.

Strongest type of gorillas

Well, there is a type of gorilla which is not considered as strongest but it considered as deadliest which is a silverback gorilla. Apart from that, there are many cases or scenario regarding to how dangerous a silverback gorilla is. Encountering with a silverback gorilla is not a thing that can be taken lightly. It is a primitive and fierce animal. Escaping when it started to grab on you seems futile as its arm’s strength can make even impressed the strongest man in the world.  Apart from that, silverback gorillas live up in the mountain. Encountering a gorilla which live in the lower part of the jungle require less fatal injury rather than encountering a mountain gorilla>

Know more about gorillas

By physically, we recognise gorillas as a type of animal which imitate mostly of human being. It does the same thing as what humans do. Unlike any other type of animals which have four legs or two legs but with no hands or even no limbs at all. But gorilla, a primate, have both hands and legs, which means the same as what a human being possesses. Even by Darwin’s theories, there is a link between the evolutions from monkey to human being which is a gorilla.
